Swash® incontinence care
With the increase in aging of the general population, incontinence becomes an ever greater health concern. Skin irritation is a common problem with incontinent care recipients. They run a 50% higher risk of developing incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD), an inflammation of the skin that – due to the repeated exposure to moisture – causes pain and discomfort for the care recipient.
Swash® Perineum 3-in-1 products (clean, care, protect) are moistened wash gloves or wipes infused with a skin protectant 3% Dimethicone. This silicon-based oil leaves a thin layer on the skin, protecting it from moisture and irritation, while being non-occlusive, hence allowing the skin to breathe.
Swash® Perineum+ 4-in-1 products have the benefits of the 3-in-1 (clean, care, protect) products plus the special Trixotric® formula, which helps the skin to restore.
Swash® Dry Gloves and Swash® Cleansing Wipes are designed as supportive products for incontinence care, when a pre-cleansing is needed after a major incontinence episode, before using Swash® Perineum Wipes/Gloves or Swash® Perineum+ Wipes.
Faster skin recovery with Trixotric® formula for incontinence care
Our Swash® R&D team developed a new lotion formula used in Swash® Perineum+ Wipes, to support faster skin recovery of the patients affected by incontinence.
It contains 3 essential ingredients:
- Hyaluronic Acid: helps the skin to restore.
- Hydrogel: mild moisturizer, leaves the skin soft and refreshed.
- Bentonite Clay: natural stabilizer that gives the skin a rich feeling.
